Successful Outfit Day

I felt a little self-conscious wearing this today because it is a loud outfit and I felt like people were giving me weird looks (which was probably all in my head) but I LOVE the way the photos turned out! I love the pop of bright blue and the animal print in between my dress and my fabulous new boots. So all in all I'd say today was a successful outfit day. Do you ever have those days where you leave the house feeling uncomfortable with your risky outfit choice, and end up posting the pix and realizing you love the outfit afterall?

Just an Average Day

Hi there! I'm finally back and not feeling as jet-lagged (even though I am feeling a little sick). Let me just tell you that I had an amazing time in Japan. It's such an awesome place and I really would suggest anyone considering visiting there to definitely go.

Today I wore lots of new items I received over the holidays - new boots, new top, new necklace and bracelet (which is sadly not pictured). I really loved this outfit, super comfortable just the way I like it. Plus I'm really excited about my new boots. I had lunch with my friend Natalie today (Hi Guz if you're reading this!!), and the first thing she said to me was "are we gonna take your hog?". At first I was like, uhh I know my car somewhat dirty, then she was like no... your hog.. as in your bike. She thinks these boots look like biker boots. And yes, the sort of do, but I'm not a biker and I really love them. I wore them all around Japan and they're great.

Anywho, I hope everyone had an amazing new years eve. I can't believe its 2010! It feels very odd writing 2010 - makes me feel old! :)

The Color of 2010

That's right, the official color of 2010 is turquoise. I was honored when Glamour.com wrote an article about the color featuring yours truly in December! Today I also tried the new trend I've seen on other fashion blogs of layering a patterned or lace pair of tights over a solid color pair of tights.
Today was a great day; Kerri is back and today was the first day in two weeks we have taken outfit photos together. It was really frustrating though because we take our photos outside our building (we work together) and it seemed like there were people walking around everywhere we tried to shoot. We try to keep the photo taking on the down low cause it can look kinda silly posing in the street in an industrial area, but we finally found a spot by this bright green tree so I was happy. I hope you all had a great Wednesday!
Dress: TJ Max $15
Tights: Turquoise - Target $5 & Black lace F21 $5
Cami: Styles for Less $5
Booties: Target $30
Blazer: H&M gift
Necklaces: Styles for less $4 & $5
Sequined cuff: F21 $5

My goals for 2010

Upon reflection over the past few days here are my non-fashion as well as fashion-related goals for 2010:
-Live like today is the most important day of my life
-Do not let myself be limited by my fears
-Trust my intuition more
-Get into a fashion program (preferably FIDM) for 2011
-Become a better photographer - Kerri is probably giggling at this
-Do away with insecurity
-Get an AA degree (I start Jan 30th - woo hoo!!)
-Love people like I will never be hurt;
and when hurt, live like today is too precious to waste hurting
-Dance more
-Experience new things - I have never been one to practice boredom - but there are so many things I have not done that I want to experience!
-Travel somewhere beautiful that I have never been
-Learn to make clothing (i don't even know how to use a sewing machine :) )
-Help people to love themselves more - not sure how I will do this, but it's a goal of mine
-Finish reading "The Secret"

And lastly, HAVE FUN!!

What are your goals for the year? For some reason I do not like the word resolution, so I use "goals" instead.

Natalya
