wow thats a big face right there.

Happy Friday! Here is my Old Navy jacket I got on sale 50% off when they were having their outerwear sale! Down to $35 from $70. I'm so happy I didn't buy it for full price. I really love this jacket, especially since the lining on the inside is yellow - my favorite. It's a nice addition to my jacket collection. :)

"Old School Looks Inspired by the Vintage and Retro"

HELP! I need wardrobe inspiration! I feel like I have worn, and posted everything in my closet already and I'm broke!!! Ahhhh, thank god for thrift stores!!

More importantly, while browsing today looky what I stumbled accross: this lovely lookbook entitled "Old School Looks Inspired by the Vintage and Retro" and there are 112 AWESOME pictures of runway models from fall 2009 fashion shows all decked out in awesome outfits!!

Check all 112 out here! While I didn't post all 112 pics, I did show my 16 favorite below:

Now my challenge is to try and emulate these looks on a much smaller budget than these Marc Jacobs and Emanuel Ungaro, and Chanel, etc. clothes cost! Stay posted for my outfits in the near future!
Also, if you have any tips for how you deal with lack-of-outfit-inspiration-syndrome, please do share!!!

I feel like I can click my heels together to go home, just like Dorothy. I think I really like doing black and gray, with a little bit of red in my outfits.
Button up: Gap
Tank: Nordstrom Rack
Pencil Skirt: H&M
Shoes: Target

Orange you glad I didn't say pumpkin?

Sweater: Gift from my grandmother in Toronto
Corduroy pants: H&M $25
Shoes: Famous Footwear $20
Bracelet: got it a loooong time ago at Rampage
Earrings: Target $8
Total: $53

Oh the beautiful color orange, so fun and vibrant and crisp! I love fall and I love fall colors. For some reason this is the only orange peice of clothing I own, but I LOVE how happy it looks. It reminds me of pumpkin pies, warm sweaters and cozy evenings. Although, let me come back to reality - I live in Orange County, California, and today was sunny and 74 degrees Fahrenheit...I suppose the warm sweaters and cozy evenings will have to wait, but there's always pumpkin pie!

I felt like such a sillypants goofball while taking pictures today. My photos here are evidence of that. I couldnt stand still for any of my poses so the result is some wacky pics! This outfit is very simple yet chic, in my opinion. I try to add lots of color to my wardrobe, but somtimes I just feel like wearing black on black.

Stepping Out of My Zone....

...my comfort zone that is. At different times today I felt like the following:

1. a German milkmaid: yes, I actually adore my milkmaid hair and am very proud that I was able to do it myself
2. a cowgirl: something about the huge scarf made me want to rob a train out in the wild west
3. an elephant: now hear me out, don't my new gray booties look like elephant skin? Can't you see the resemblance, even just a little?

just look at that handiwork. so proud :)

Anyways, I'm kind of on the fence about this outfit. I love it, but sometimes I feel like what I love doesn't translate well. What do you think? Yay or nay?

Fancy dresses for my dad's wedding

I thought I would do a special post (it was actually Kerri's idea - thanks Kerri!) showing the dresses I wore to my Dad's weddings. Now I say weddings because he had two - to the same woman of course. One was last month in Tel-Aviv for friends and family there, and the other was here in California for their friends and family here. Lucky for me, because I love traveling, and I love dolling up for events. I am truly a girly-girl. Below is the black gown I wore last sunday to his California wedding:

And here is the dress I wore to the wedding in Tel-Aviv. The quality of these isn't as great, but you get the point.
I love both dresses, and I love how different and unique each one is. I have to say the gold one is my favorite though because it literally shines, and it is perfect for traveling because it already has a crinkled look, so it didnt matter if it got wrinkled in my suitcase. Both dresses were about $100 and from Nordstrom. I usually do not spend that much but the gold dress was a gift to me so I didnt spend anything, and with the black one I decided to splurge. So tell me what you think, which dress do you think is more fabulous? I have absolutely no idea what the daughter-of-the-groom is supposed to wear and I was told to wear whatever I wanted, so how did I do? Do I look daughter-of-the-groom appropriate?

Happy Skirt

I can fly! No not really but this was fun.

Today I'm wearing my rainbowy floral skirt, hopefully I don't get any more childish comments like last the time I wore it. It makes me happy.

Feelin' snazzy on a sunny So. Cal. day

Shirt: H&M $5
Jeans: Target $19.99
Booties: Target $29.99
Purse: Target $17
Camisole: Style For Less $5

Oh just another lunch break spent dancing in the busy industrial area's street snappin' pics... I passed by H&M about a month ago and saw this big sign in the window that said this shirt was $5. I knew it was love at first sight and I bought it right away. I am so lucky to live and work in such a beautiful area in sunny Southern California!
