My Birthday Scarf

I received a voicemail from my grandma this week saying my birthday gift from her should be arriving soon and that she would tell me not to open it until my actual birthday, (my birthday is not until the 22nd), but that she knew better than that. I am not what you would call a patient person :). So, a nice little package arrived in the mail the other night, I opened up the box and in it was this GORGEOUS scarf handmade by her!!

P.S.: I finally figured out how to make big pics clear, woo hoo!!!!!

Asphalt Gray Pants

Literally my pants match the asphalt - and I love it! Just got these from H&M to add to my office appropriate wardrobe. They are have a wide leg and a high waist, just they way I like em. Plus I like the little button detail on the front. So on a side note, I just started packing for my trip to Japan! I leave in about a week and I'm super excited!! :)

Bat-wing Top: Target
Heels: H&M $40
Necklace: Kaitlyn (small store) $17

Work Shorts

I've read before that shorts should not be worn to work, and when you think about it that seems right. But I feel like this look is appropriate since I'm balancing the shorts with the tights and turtleneck top. Plus its not like the shorts are super short and they're pleated! Haha, yes, pleated! I guess this wouldn't fly if you had a more business formal job though. Natalya and I are pretty lucky to have a very casual work environment that lets us wear what we want - as long as we look decent. I thought I looked decent when I wore these to work before?! but maybe not, it was a lot of leg...

Feeling Festive

I love how this new skirt sparkles and shines, and Kerri declared when I walked in with it this morning, "you look so festive!" I suppose with the holiday season being here, anything shiny and sparkly is festive. Again, sorry for the poor picture quality, I wanted bigger, but sharper would be great too! It will get there, just gotta play around with the settings a bit more..

Reworn: Taking a Moment to Look Back

One of the reasons I wanted to do this blog was to dress more creatively with what I have in my closet. I decided to take a look back at the posts I've done in the last couple months (even though I admit I don't have that many posts), and lookie what we have here... I wear the same black/red/white combo all the time! I also realize that I really want to invest more time on my hair every morning. I wear it in a ponytail so often and the pictures prove it!

So from this little look back, I've decided to make a few small personal goals: 1) wake up an extra 15 minutes earlier to do something other than a ponytail with my hair 2) try to wear red with neutrals other than black and white :)
look 1: Yesterdays post!
look 3: Beatles

Holiday Cheer

Keeping with the office appropriate theme from yesterday, I went with the basic black pencil skirt, except this isn't my pencil skirt... its my black dress from here! Pretty ingenious to wear a dress like that under a t-shirt, cardigan. Don't you think? (I wore my blazer too. The many layers kept me nice and toasty warm in the cold).

My only issue with wearing a skinny belt over a cardigan is that I have no idea what type of jewelry to wear with it. It seems like all my long skinny necklaces just don't look right. Any suggestions out there? Any ideas would be great. :)

Top: H&M

Belt: Swapped for a different belt with my sister
