This post is dedicated to the best blogger buddy in the world: Kerri! Kerri is in Japan for a few weeks, so I am the sole-poster on Wear Necessities right now. As a tribute to my blog partner, the fabulous last four months, and the upcoming new year, here is a look-back at my favorite outfits of Kerri's and mine from 2009. Note: we started our blog in September 2009:

Living like there's no tomorrow
I keep hearing Alicia Key's "Sure Looks Good To Me" song in my head. My favorite line of that song is, "so don't rain on my parade, life's too short to waste one day, I'm gonna risk it all, the freedom, the fall, yes it sure looks good to me." I suppose that inspired my title for this post.
Yep, these are the fabulous boots I wrote about in my previous post. My Mom rocks!

Caty Behavior
Hey guys,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas! Kerri got me these cute tights for my birthday so I wore them with a simple black outfit and my fabulous Tel-Aviv necklace. I actually braved the mall yesterday if you can believe it. I usually stay far far away from malls the day after major holidays but my Mom was going to get me flat black boots for my birthday, per my request, and we still hadn't found the right pair, so we thought we'd hit up the major sales. I am happy to report we left the house and were back within 2 hours. I like to get in and out, and the majority of the time was spent in the parking lot, trying to find a spot. We found the PERFECT pair and I cant wait to post them!! Stay tuned!!
Dress: H&M $25
Tights: gift from Kerri
Booties: Target $30
Necklace: Castro in Tel-Aviv

Celebrity Style Couple: Katy and Russell
Putting my personal opinions of Russell Brand aside, I am loving this couple's holiday-chic style above!! What do you think? Living in Southern California, we don't have to dress for snow in winter, so I haven't rocked any winter-chic looks. But, if I did, they would be similar to Katy's shown here.

Party Like It's Your Birthday
Happy birthday to me!! I know I've made a big deal about my birthday this week, but a quarter of a century is a big deal!! Anyways, this is what I wore today. The tights (part of my sister's b-day gift to me!) were definitely the main highlight with their fun busy pattern. I have no doubt my family knows what I want very well because my dad and his wife bought me clothes, my mom bought me boots, and my sister bought me tights for my birthday, because all I want is clothes clothes and more clothes (and OF COURSE a Glamour Magazine article written about me - I'm still on a pink cloud over this!)!!

Oh So Very Basic
I was in a rush this morning to get out of the house early - had to decorate for Natalya's Birthday! (Happy Birthday Natalya!!!) Went with the basic black and gray with messy hair - the usual for me when I'm feeling rushed. Have I told you that I really love my leathery jacket? Well guess what - I really do love it. I feel like I put it on and it instantly makes any outfit a gazillion times better.
A couple advantages of doing this blog is that I get to look back at how I'm presenting myself - which was sort of sloppy today. It makes me think of how I would have done things differently. For example I would probably wear a longer shirt, maybe my black and white striped one that I always wear. Or maybe wear my new boots since these jeans have been through the wash/dryer so many times that they've shrunk a little in the length. Or maybe wear a necklace or big earrings? Anyways I have lots of ideas flowing now..its kind of fun to think of the options. There are lots of them.. haha :)
Top: Forever 21
Scarf: Target
Jacket: Marshalls
Jeans: Nordstrom
Flats: I can't remember

Merry Early Christmas to Me
It was cold and gray today - finally feeling like a real Southern Cali winter (it was 80 degrees this past Saturday). I kind of wish we got snow around here. I keep seeing other blogger's snow filled pictures and its gorgeous. But then again, I can just drive a few hours to the mountains if I really want to see snow. Anyways I picked up this dress over the weekend for $10 from Urban Outfitters sale rack. Score! It doesn't look like anything I own. Sometimes I just have the itch to shop, even though I don't really have the cash. This purchase satisfied that itch without any buyers remorse afterward. Double Score! Plus, this dress has pockets! Triple Score! Merry Christmas to me. haha :)

Bright Yellow Saves the Day
It honestly took me FOREVER to get dressed this morning. After trying on about 6 different outfits and not being happy with any I decided to wear my pencil skirt. I think its starting to become my go-t0 piece because its so easy to just throw on any fun top. At first here I put on a black cami, but that was no fun - how about bright neon YELLOW! Yes please I will take yellow any day of the week. And to make the pencil skirt less formal, threw on my leather jacket. Im pretty pleased with how this all came out.
