Beautiful Blogger Award!

The lovely ladies over at recently tagged us for the Beautiful Blogger Award! Thanks you two, you guys are awesome. :)

Here are 7 random things about me, Kerri~
1. I love my dog Chevy .. seriously what is not to love about my sidekick puppyface..

here he is with me at the beach this past weekend

2. I have a hard time keeping my room clean. So messy I know! I'm working on it!
3. I really love playing volleyball
4. I'm a music lover that can't understand how people can say one song is their favorite. There is just so much good stuff out there how could you ever choose!
5. I have a love hate relationship with Target. But doesn't everyone? Walk in for shampoo, walk out with new shirt, sandals, headband, shampoo, eye shadow... you get the point.
6. I really want to travel. If I could, I would go on a world tour. Maybe I will someday? Who knows...
7. I started a separate blog to keep tabs on my personal thoughts, except Im finding it hard to keep up with. check it here if you like-- Wanderlusting Fool

And here are Natalya's 7 Randoms:

1. Through this blog, which Kerri and I started as a fun hobby in September 2009, I discovered my dream career which is designing and writing about fashion!!
2. I started working full-time at age 18 so I never graduated college. Now, at age 25, I just quit my full-time pension planning job of 6 years, and am going back to school (classes start next Monday!!!) to get my AA degree.
3. Next January (2011) I hope to be accepted into FIDM in L.A. to pursue a B.S. degree in Fashion.
4. Half my family lives in Israel - where my father is from. I miss them terribly.
5. I have been a vegetarian since age 6 (and only cheated once since then - it was a hotdog of all things, ew)!!
6. I laugh ALL THE TIME (just ask Kerri)!! I believe life is too short to take it too seriously!
7. In high school I never put effort into how I dressed, because I had such low self-esteem, and wanted to be invisible. I really started to care about my appearance in my 20's when I wanted to feel better about myself.

We would now like to nominate these lovelies:

XOXO,

Kerri and Natalya

Greenie

I typically love most things from Urban Outfitters, but I typically can't afford it! That's why when I saw this green tweed blazer on sale for $40 down from $78 I had to have it. What a freaking steal! I fell in love with it when it first came out and am so happy I was patient and smart enough to not pay full price. Don't you love when that happens?! I know I do.

Blazer: Urban Outfitters $40
Top: Forever 21
Jeans: Forever 21
Boots: Target $9
Feather Cuff: Kohls (gift)
Necklace: Etsy

I really love this blazer and already have so many remixing ideas in my head. I'm thinking I might do a weak of remixes with it. Would anyone want to see something like this?

Week of tweed blazer remixes. Yay or Nay?
Yay - Sounds interesting lets see it!
Nay - Green tweed blazers aren't my thing.

Thanks for the input everyone! Be sure to leave a comment if you have a better idea regarding the remixing. I love reading all of your thoughts. :)

Menswear Inspired

I've come to realize I really adore women who can feel comfortable and sexy in menswear inspired clothing. Someday I will post some examples for all of you to see what I mean. Now, I'm not saying this outfit is particularly very masculine, but I do adore my relatively wide Express pants. I feel really comfortable in this outfit, which is always pretty important to me. Plus, I'm diggin' my skinny belt over the top. I feel like it really polishes off the look.

Outfit Details:
Pants: Express Editor Pants
Top: Forever 21
Belt: Trade from my sister
Heels: Target
Pearl Earrings: Forever 21

Unexpected

So these pictures were actually from last Friday, and when I woke up and threw this outfit on I didn't really like it. But, after wearing them all day and taking pics I realized I liked it! Sort of preppy with my sweater, pants and scarf. Anyways it wasn't the most inspiring outfit ever but thats ok. Casual is good too sometimes :)

Cardigan: Old Navy
Pants: Hollister
Flats: H&M $12.95

Oh Happy Day

Yesterday was stormy again and I realize I'm really not a rain person. My wardrobe is very much suited for sunny warm weather. So I wore this bright yellow cardigan and flowery top to make things better. I just want to throw it out there that you should never underestimate the power of wearing bright colors. In my experience I always feel a little more cheery when I wear them. Hope everyone has a fun filled weekend! :)

Outfit Details:

Top: Forever 21
Cardigan: Old Navy
Jeans: Forever 21
Boots: Target $9!
Jacket: Hurley

much love,

ps. Don't you think Natalya's last post was amazing. I read it this morning and it made me think about all these happy things in my life right now. I just want to publicly say thanks to Natalya! :)

Plaid Love

Today I wore my favorite new plaid shirt (well it is new to me). I picked it up at Buffalo Exchange and I really like the colors. I paired it with my favorite boots, cozy sweater and messy rainy day braid and was ready to tough out this storm. You can't really tell from the photos, but it has been pouring buckets here!

Top: Buffalo Exchange $8
Jeans: Buffalo Exchange $16
Necklace: Melrose Trading Post $6
Sweater: Element (gift)
Boots: Simply Vera ($50, gift)

Random thought: all of this rain is really making me want to go snowboarding. Anyone agree with me?! Hopefully I can make the trip up to the mountains sometime soon. :)

Weather Appropriate

It's super stormy where we are at right now with lots and lots of rain. With thunder and lightening right now as I type! My poor puppy is stressing with the thunder - it scares him. So these pictures are taken under the awning at work. I wore my typical black sheath that I've worn before for Holiday Cheer and Help from my Friends, but this time I wore a blouse under it. I'd say its pretty work appropriate, especially with my new black trench my bf bought me when I was in Japan. :)

Natalya and I were happy that the rain was sort of letting up. And then after work we get this....
Lovely pink cotton candy clouds. This picture really doesn't do them justice, because they were quite pretty.

Etsy Finds, DIY, and Such

Isn't this necklace awesome? I was browsing the necklaces on Etsy and found this, and love the colors and how unique it is. And for only $15 I might just have to snatch it up! For some reason I really like anything with big flowers on it. Take for example this beauty right here from Anthropologie, this is exactly what I would want from a necklace with flowers. It sort of has a nautical feel with the ropes and chains.
Sadly, this beaut is going for a whopping $228. Yes, you read that right, $228! Ridiculous. But still very pretty.
Well, what about this one with cute little red poppies from here. I think this would go super cute with a navy blue button up or something of that nature. Super cute and only $15, but still not quite the same as the Anthro necklace.
This one is really cute too, and they called it the "Kerri Necklace"! Its sort of calling my name, literally. I really like the yellow with the gray, but its still not the right kind of flower!
~
So, I've decided I'm going to try and make my own - a lil' DIY if you will. I've made just one so far, and I think it's a little too full to go on a necklace. What do you think? I'll try and wear it one of these days so you get the full effect.
Anyways thanks for the read :)

Just an Average Day

Hi there! I'm finally back and not feeling as jet-lagged (even though I am feeling a little sick). Let me just tell you that I had an amazing time in Japan. It's such an awesome place and I really would suggest anyone considering visiting there to definitely go.

Today I wore lots of new items I received over the holidays - new boots, new top, new necklace and bracelet (which is sadly not pictured). I really loved this outfit, super comfortable just the way I like it. Plus I'm really excited about my new boots. I had lunch with my friend Natalie today (Hi Guz if you're reading this!!), and the first thing she said to me was "are we gonna take your hog?". At first I was like, uhh I know my car somewhat dirty, then she was like no... your hog.. as in your bike. She thinks these boots look like biker boots. And yes, the sort of do, but I'm not a biker and I really love them. I wore them all around Japan and they're great.

Anywho, I hope everyone had an amazing new years eve. I can't believe its 2010! It feels very odd writing 2010 - makes me feel old! :)

Oh So Very Basic

I was in a rush this morning to get out of the house early - had to decorate for Natalya's Birthday! (Happy Birthday Natalya!!!) Went with the basic black and gray with messy hair - the usual for me when I'm feeling rushed. Have I told you that I really love my leathery jacket? Well guess what - I really do love it. I feel like I put it on and it instantly makes any outfit a gazillion times better.

A couple advantages of doing this blog is that I get to look back at how I'm presenting myself - which was sort of sloppy today. It makes me think of how I would have done things differently. For example I would probably wear a longer shirt, maybe my black and white striped one that I always wear. Or maybe wear my new boots since these jeans have been through the wash/dryer so many times that they've shrunk a little in the length. Or maybe wear a necklace or big earrings? Anyways I have lots of ideas flowing now..its kind of fun to think of the options. There are lots of them.. haha :)

Merry Early Christmas to Me

It was cold and gray today - finally feeling like a real Southern Cali winter (it was 80 degrees this past Saturday). I kind of wish we got snow around here. I keep seeing other blogger's snow filled pictures and its gorgeous. But then again, I can just drive a few hours to the mountains if I really want to see snow. Anyways I picked up this dress over the weekend for $10 from Urban Outfitters sale rack. Score! It doesn't look like anything I own. Sometimes I just have the itch to shop, even though I don't really have the cash. This purchase satisfied that itch without any buyers remorse afterward. Double Score! Plus, this dress has pockets! Triple Score! Merry Christmas to me. haha :)

Dress: Urban Outfitters $9.99
Jacket: Buffalo Exchange $16
Tights: Gap $10
Shoes: DSW
Necklace: Melrose Trading Post $6
